William did not leave a will, but his estate file does contain some information about his property and family. William and Patience are buried together at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church, Randolph County, NC. (Address: 5056 NC-22, Franklinville, NC 27248) Their original tombstones were made of Soapstone and are fading away. However, in the late 1960's, descendant Bill Mendenhall placed a new tombstone on their graves, with the original stones set on either side.
