William Brantley Allred was born in 1811 Randolph County, North Carolina and died 1909 Caswell County, North Carolina. He was the son of Thomas Allred 1779-1860 and wife Sarah "Sally" York 1787-1858. Thomas was the son (possibly the oldest son) of Elias Allred 1758-1844 and wife Mary "Polly" Rigby 1758-1835. Elias was born in Orange County (later became Randolph County), North Carolina and moved to Hall County, Georgia after the American Revolution. Elias' son, Thomas, remained in Randolph County because, per family stories, he had just married and his bride wanted to remain close to her parents.
