William Trogdon was the original owner of the land the cemetery is located on.  Trogdon descendents call him "The Patriot" because he gave patriot service for the cause during the Revolutionary War.  The original copy of William's will is located in the loose estate files for Randolph County, Research Room, NC Archives, Raleigh, NC.
