"Oh MY Allreds were never in Kentucky!"

Are you Sure???

White European settlers began appearing in Kentucky in the early 1770's.  The first permanent European-American settlement, Harrod's Town, was established in 1774.   The land that is now the STATE of Kentucky was considered part of Virginia.  Kentucky COUNTY, Virginia was established in 1777 and the lines between what is now Kentucky and what is now Tennessee were blurred as State and County lines were changed and established.  By the time Kentucky was officially founded (became a State) on June 1, 1792, Some Allred families had already started moving west and, as you will see from the Kentucky Time Line, some had lived in - or at least passed through - Kentucky.
