Hello everyone! My grandfather was Lamar Alred. His family lived in Cedartown, GA.  He had to quit school after 8th grade due to the Great Depression.  One of his regrets was not getting to play football but, for his 8th grade year.  Visiting the doctor, they had a magazine on the table with many old photos from Georgia.  I turned the page and there he was...Lamar Alred, the 8th grader, in a team photo!  He’s at the end, on the left.

So...the family lived in Cedartown, GA. Supposedly, had a lot to do with starting the Church of Christ there.  My great grandfather had a couple of businesses in town: a dry cleaners, and a general store.  Sold them and bought a farm during the depression.  Also, our family name was originally spelled “Allred” but, due to a family dispute (which I cannot find out more info on) we dropped an “l”.  I haven’t gotten much information about my Alred family, unfortunately.  If you can add information/stories, please contact me
